About Gabriela Bohnett

I am a mother of three musicians: two violinists, and a cellist (Nicole Bohnett, who is also an instructor at Laudare Music Academy). I am also a wife to a father of two grown children. I have been living in Northern Virginia for 30 years, where I have served as a performing violinist, a private teacher, an orchestra conductor, a choir director, a choir member, and serve regularly in music ministry in the local parishes of the Catholic Church. Along with my children and students, I volunteer to bring music to those in need of a little joy. Through Laudare Music Apostolate I use my talent for the glory of God, and spreading the joy of learning music is one of my greatest passions. I have studies in music and education from Conservatorio Vicente Emilio Sojo in my native Venezuela, as well as studies and professional development from Catholic University of America, and the Juilliard School of Music. I am a member of the Suzuki Association of the Americas and the Virginia Music Teachers Association.

About Nicole Bohnett

I am the cellist of the Bohnett Quartet, and the middle child in my family of musicians. I have been playing the cello since I was four, since my mom is a Suzuki teacher. I particularly enjoy playing in orchestra and in chamber music ensembles. I have served as a performing cellist, cello teacher, and choir member. I like to bring the beauty and joy of music everywhere I go, so I perform as regularly as the opportunity presents itself. My interest in using music as a tool for healing and growth led me to study music therapy along with cello performance. I am currently pursuing a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling at Divine Mercy University. I am committed to guiding my students in learning not only to be technically excellent in the cello, but also to perform musically, from the heart. In the near future, I am eager to combine my music performance studies, my music therapy background, and my current studies to offer an integral therapeutic program of mental health, with the mission of helping my clients to overall health and to his or her flourishing in joy as a beloved child of God.
